Because true wild camping on a motorcycle in the UK is almost impossible, I take a lot of time to research campsites that provide a genuine, authentic camping experience that's calm, quiet and in touch with nature.

For the best chance of a peaceful trip, I always choose to camp mid-week and try to avoid taking trips during school holidays. In addition, when searching for campsites I always look for sites with the following criteria in mind:

• Must be in a woodland, coastal or riverside location.
• Must allow parking next to the tent.
• Ideally allows campfires & sells wood.

Having these few rules in mind drastically cuts down on the number of suitable campsites when searching online, but you can save yourself some time and use the brief listings here to find a great spot for your next moto-camping adventure.
