Sango Sands Oasis Campsite
A clifftop campsite with a private beach and views to die for.
Midway along the NC500 route, Sango Sands Oasis offers a welcome chance to pitch your tent for a much needed break. While you're there, you'll be treated to one of the best views from a campsite I've ever seen.
Located on the edge of a sea cliff, the campsite has some truly breathtaking panoramic views; and with some level of risk, the cliffs can be descended onto white sand beaches where you can take in the almost tropical looking turquoise waves crashing onto the shore.
Facilities are good, with well maintained shower and toilet blocks and there's also a small shop on site, but there's also a small supermarket just west of the site where you can stock up on essentials and refuel your bike.
It's a spectacular place and well worth a visit, even if you aren't camping.
Bikers Note: While camping on the cliff edge offers the best views, you may want to check the weather report before pitching as winds can be extremely powerful here. If you have any doubts about whether your bike could be blown over, as safer bet would be to pitch your tent more inland toward the main road.
